It does everything I need in runnng a new non-profit. The basic problem is that it’s not a “plug-and-play” concept, like using Word for instance, and the options aren’t immediately self-explanatory. Rightfully so, it involves accounting, I get it. So, I’m paying a bookkeeper to run me through it plus bought a how-to book. Consider that when you buy the software, you’ll probably also invest in a little more. Read more...

The beauty of this program is you can get pretty much anything you want from it in the way of reports and ease of use. It’s perfect for the small business owner who need to track inventory. I’ve used Quickbook Premiere for my business since 2003 and every new edition brings more things I like. One thing I like is when you find something doesn’t work the way you expect it to, you can either find out why from one of the support people or suggest it as a new feature. A lot of those get incorporated in to the new versions. I like the myriad of compatible forms and that I can create my own, edit theirs, insert my own logo, change the print colors (new this year) and customize it to fit my preferences. I’ve used other programs in the past and this one tops them all. Read more...
The first episode of my new podcast! Each week I cover one aspect of QuickBooks accounting software and demonstrate how to use it. In this premiere episode I give an overview of the QuickBooks menu system and how the user interface is laid out.
..to upgrade to QuickBooks pro 2005 after reading the reviews. Having received an e-mail from Intuit saying that they were `sunsetting’ QuickBooks pro 2002 from April and I would no longer have access to email for invoices etc… I “decided” to bite the bullet and upgrade.
The purchase
I received a discount for upgrading my single user version and use the internet to activate the product. It went smoothly. The installation CD arrived promptly in the mail, well packaged. I also decided to buy the 5 user edition for work since I network qbooks That arrived promptly [actually the two came together].
The installation
I decided to TEST at HOME fist on backup data and to do a clean install and an upgrade. OK. The clean install was flawless. The internet activation as painless and I was up and running! GOOD. Next came the 5 user edition; I did an upgrade on the second computer and that went flawless. Next the internet was used to activate the product. No problems! Read more...
QuickBooks – quickly unsupported – – Quickbooks likes to retire their software every 3 years. This includes extra cost add-ons like tax tables. Do not think of this as a purchase, it is more like a 3-year (or less) lease.

We upgraded to QB Premier from QB Pro to take advantage of the multiple pricing by amount – not percentage and it works well. However, there are still items that need consideration. For mail and phone orders, credit cards now require CVV codes and there is no place on the payment screen to include. I also believe that front end and back end info should be integrated. We would like to be able to use QB to send info to customers who have purchased a certain products rather than having to export to another program. Read more...

I purchased QuickBooks for our hospital foundation. The program itself is quite user friendly. The only downside to the purchase has been setting up the payroll portion, which took customer service assistance. After 20 minutes on the phone with Edwardo, it was finally completed. Then started the upselling of other products and services, which aren’t cheap. All in all, I think this will be an easy accounting software to learn and will serve its purpose for the foundation. When Quickbooks initially launched they did not seem to be using – Acccountants, POS customers or the like – only programmers. I have an unusual background. My first degree is in Advanced Mgmt & Financial Acctg + a degree in computer programming. I have owned or managed retail stores. Working with this broad base of knowledge, when I was invited to be a Beta Tester for this product I jumped up for the opportunity. I am more then satisfied. I am a controller for a few small retail outlets and am recommending it as fit to use with the Quickbooks financial solutions software It is indeed compatible and great me as an accountant for year end, along with their tax software. Bar none this is the best POS product which is indeed very compatible for the CPA or Enrolled Agent to work with. I give a Thumbs up to this product. Read more...
As a 10 year user of QuickBooks software the Premier Pro (Professional Serices edition) 2006 version is excellent. One of the new features is the ability to have different billing rates for different customers.
Unfortunately this feature appears to be non functional in the 2007 Professional Services edition. The tech support person didn’t provide any support for solving this problem. Hopefully, QuickBook will solve it soon. Read more...
